This article should be read before you modify anything in a Collaboration Manager Template. If you follow these guidelines, you won't have any problems working with the Collaboration Manager.
- Don't deactivate any Features, that are active by default in the template
- Don't remove any Libraries created by features, they will still be created in the workspace via feature activation
- Don't rename any Libraries created by features
- Don't use the Nintex Tasklist with the default name "Workflow Tasks". Rename it in the Nintex Settings, because the default sharepoint workflow task library has the same name.
- Don't use the default "Document" Library from the Publishing Feature, because any changes in the settings will not be taken over
- Don't use the same webpart title in one page again and again, it will lead to missing webparts, because the title is used to remove duplicated webparts
- Don't use the same Target Group with different PeoplePermission Fields for the same Template / Workspace
- Activate only the Features you really need
- Try to avoid the usage of the default Workspace ContentType, instead consider usage of the specific contenttype foreach Template
- Don't create custom Features with synchronous EventReceivers, they can lead to errors when a workspace is created.
- Don't delete Columns in the Template, if you want to synchronize these changes to the Workspace. We recommend to hide not used columns. (They won't be deleted in the Workspaces with both methods, don't worry)
- If you modify your template, save it as often as you can, create a new Workspace with it to see if your changes are correctly imported.
- Give your template a Quota, otherwise for each Workspace there will be created a new database (with automatically database creation)
- Use for each template a specific ContentType
- Activate as few features as possible
